March 15-April 4, 20415
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24
We have previously indicated that 2015 is The Year of Fruition, as God positions His people to receive the bounty of His blessings as we continue fulfilling the kingdom agenda. The Prophet Isaiah records God’s commitment to responding to His people as we faithfully serve Him. It is clear that His response to us has already been launched.
In order to prepare our hearts for what God is doing, we will begin a 21-day period of fasting and prayer on March 15, 2015 that will last until Sunday morning, April 5, at 12:00 a.m. Our focus should be directed to petitioning God for the blessings that allow us to be effective in carrying out our kingdom assignment, especially as we consider the times. Satanic forces have arrayed themselves for an all-out assault against God’s people and our fasting and praying serve as a buffer against all of the strategies used against us. They also open the door for us to be receptive to the blessings that God releases in our lives.
The fast will consist of the following.
For the entire 21 days, we will give up meats (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish, and any other animal that can be eaten), sweets (including honey and artificial sweeteners), caffeine and snacks (potato chips, popcorn, corn chips, etc.). Fruits, vegetables and grains are acceptable. In addition, during the first week, we will fast from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.; week two, from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.; week three, 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. If your day begins at another time, the corresponding time should be devoted to fasting and prayer each week. For example, if you work second shift and you normally sleep from 1:00 until 9:00 a.m., you would begin your fast at 9:00 a.m. for six hours the first week, nine hours the second week and twelve hours the third week.
As with prior fasts, if anyone is medically unable to fast as indicated, please find something else to sacrifice during the fast. For example, giving up FaceBook during the 21-day period for the times indicated or giving up television for the times indicated are examples of alternatives to the fast. Most importantly, ask God for the proper alternative for you.
Regardless of our approach, we are encouraged to join in so that we all benefit from this collective fast.

God bless you for your decision to join the Mount Pisgah Harnett Church family as we read the Bible together in 2015. In order to successfully complete our task, it is important that each of us be consistent, reading each day, and that we dedicate the amount of time needed to complete each reading assignment. To gain the most benefit out of our reading, I encourage all of us to read prayerfully, carefully, and meditatively. We should ask the Holy Spirit to help us to understand what we read and it is good to quote and believe Psalm 119:18 as we prepare to read, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
We have chosen to read the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs in 2015. With less reading on the schedule, it is our hope that each of us will have more time to spend studying the Word and memorizing those verses that stand out with us. We want to hide the word on our hearts so that it will be an ever-present resource for us as we go from day to day. If we memorize just one verse a week, we will memorize 52 verses by the end of the year. If we memorize one verse a day, we will memorize 365 verses this year!
Our theme for 2015 is, The Year of Fruition, as we trust God to manifest His wonderful blessings in our lives. We know that He is faithful and we sincerely believe the encouragement that God spoke through the Prophet Isaiah, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thingwhereto I sent it.” God has spoken into the lives of His people through His Word and we believe that 2015 will allow us to see His Word become a reality in us and through us.
